A Victory Garden
Now that the Holidays are over and things have started to settle down.It is a great time to think about
Spring and Summer. Have you thought about growing a garden either for canning things or just for fresh Vegetables.
Well if you have you might consider growing a Victory Garden, Yes a Victory Garden. Not sure what is in
a Victory Garden. Let me give you a list of vegetables that are in one.
First a little history about the Victory Garden
During WW I and WW II, Americans were encouraged to grow a Victory Garden to help support the war effort.
Perhaps now is the time to renew that practice.Previously. people were asked to grow their own produce. so more of the commercially
grown produce was available for the relief effort overseas. Those unable to grow their own were forced to use rationing coupons.
The new war on terrorism is different from the previous wars, and no one is predicting the American public will need to endure
food rationing, as previously done the first two world wars. But every bit helps, so think about growing your own garden .
Happy Gardening.
